Be creative with your smoothies

Creativity and imagination are the key ingredients to a great smoothie. I've seen some people make smoothies with brown rice, acai berries, honey, frozen bananas and skim milk! The combinations can be endless as long as you keep your ingredients fresh and healthy.


Here's a list of my favorite recipes:

1) Kale-Banana Smoothie (with milk): 

Kale-Banana Smoothie is a recipe for the ultimate healthy drink! It's an easy and nutritious breakfast that you can whip up in less than 5 minutes. This smoothie will give you energy, help your immune system, provide fiber, and keep your sugar levels steady to fight against diabetes. Kale-Banana Smoothie Recipe:
2 cups chopped kale leaves (1/4 pound) 1 banana 2 tablespoons hemp hearts (soaked overnight) 3/4 cup almond milk (or other non dairy milk) 1 tablespoon chia seeds 1 tablespoon coconut oil

2) Strawberry-banana Smoothie (using strawberries or blueberries):

A yummy and refreshing smoothie that will keep you healthy and happy is the strawberry-banana smoothie. This recipe will be using strawberries or blueberries, depending on what you like more.  The ingredients for this recipe are: 1 banana, 2 cups of frozen strawberries or blueberries, ¼ cup of honey (optional), and ½ cup of milk (any type). After preparing all ingredients put them in a blender and blend until it's the desired consistency. Enjoy!

3) Mango-Pineapple Smoothie

This summer, try our refreshing Mango-Pineapple Smoothie! It's a quick and easy way to cool off on hot summer days. The combination of mangoes and pineapple is sure to please your palate with its sweet tropical fruit flavor. Plus, it's packed with Vitamin C for an immune system boost. All you need are 3 ingredients: frozen mangos, frozen pineapple chunks, and coconut milk (or skim milk). Blend until smooth - enjoy chilled or pour over ice cubes!
It has been scientifically proven that drinking cold beverages can lower the body temperature by up to 9 degrees Fahrenheit in just 10 minutes so consider adding this recipe to your arsenal against the heat wave this summer! Now you have no excuse not to stay cool :)

4) Blackberry-Goji berries Smoothie:

This Blackberry-Goji berries Smoothie has the perfect balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat to give you lasting energy and vitality all day long.
The ingredients in this recipe includes: 2 cups mixed frozen berries, 1 banana, 1 cup vanilla yogurt or milk, ½ cup blackberries (optional), ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract or cinnamon (optional) and 3 tablespoons goji berries. Blend on high until it's as smooth as possible. Drink immediately!
